Japanese Hikihaku Craft Art | ART 003 | Kohei Murata | VOJ

Kohei Murata works with Hikihaku — a weaving technique
over 1,000 years old, in which thin strips of gold and
silver foil are woven directly into fabric.

His art pieces capture light in a way that no other
material can. As the viewing angle shifts, the surface
transforms — alive, shimmering, and deeply alive.

Murata's work stands at the intersection of ancient
textile tradition and contemporary fine art. Each piece
is a singular object that will never exist again.
